Artist statement

Through
my work I research areas of the enigmatic, the mysterious, the mythological.

In
particular, I am interested in the cultural burden conveyed through myths and especially their inherent contradiction, the core of the truth hidden within their universally accepted lie.

The
storyteller-mythologist has a specific status and role in the weaving of the social fabric of every Greek community and specifically in the Cycladic society where I grew up. My interest in the role of the storyteller was also what triggered my involvement with art.

Personal
work functions as a tool for capturing the boundary between truth and fiction. Borrowing typological elements from the structure of the myth and using the mechanism of "transfer", recognizable everyday objects are reduced to mythological and worship objects. Trasfers of a huge monolithic iPhone, an acrobat in a pink dress, a Trojan cow as a Trojan horse.

Man
is often absent as a form in my work, but states his presence through the relationships he creates within the community. Plasticity and the dynamics of these collective relations are of my basic concerns.

Constantly
experimenting with new techniques and materials, I mainly work with materials such as marble, wood and metal, developing both sculptural installations and constructions,
